BIRTH EDUCATION

If you’re pregnant (congratulations!) and are looking around for some information and options for birth education, you have probably realised just how big and overwhelming this space can be. Everybody seems to have a (conflicting) opinion about what you should be doing, you’ve no doubt heard someone tell you a horror story about birth, maybe you don’t feel like you know much about what’s going to happen, you might even feel scared and nervous about giving birth! Wherever you’re at, and however you’re feeling - I’ve got you. I teach a comprehensive Hypnobirthing program which will equip you with the knowledge, tools and techniques you need to feel informed, positive and empowered about your little one’s arrival.

PRE/POST-NATAL PILATES

We know that being active during pregnancy is amazing for both mum and baby, and is a wonderful way to support your recovery after giving birth, but it doesn’t always feel very easy or accessible. Some group exercise classes don’t allow pregnant people, and you might find that you just need something a little different throughout your pregnancy and as a new mum. With many years of experience as a movement teacher, and specific pre- & post-natal training, I will create a program specifically tailored to you and your needs, taking into account your previous exercise habits, and how you are feeling on any given day. I can also take group classes, if you’d like to arrange some classes with some friends or your parents’ group.

What People Are Saying

My very first Pilates class was with Laura a couple of years ago and since then she’s played a very important role on my…journey…Laura has supported me through pre- and postnatal Pilates and her kind nature and great knowledge is consistency present. I recently had a very positive birthing experience with an amazing recovery and know skills and strength I gained through Pilates with Laura played a key role in achieving this. Many thanks Laura!

Laura helped empower me to support Gem through labour, and whilst our birth did not go to preference, I felt confidence in the tools and techniques that we learnt with Laura, to support Gem through each phase as the labour progressed.

— Alex

Laura was confident and knowledgeable about my body and the changes it was going through whilst pregnant. She supported my technique and offered me modifications that allowed me to keep moving up until 40 weeks.

Working with Laura opened our eyes to a whole other world of labour and birthing…

Each session was informative and relevant based on our birthing preferences, in particular the birthing videos which Laura chose for us to watch. These were a wonderful way to introduce this practice to my Husband who had no awareness of a calm birth, prior to working with Laura.

Laura took the time to ensure both my Husband and I understood what we were going through and explained the benefits of us taking the time (outside of the sessions) to practice our new knowledge and learnt practices (light touch massage, anchoring, breathing techniques, meditation, affirmations).

Laura’s friendly, calm nature and her professionalism complement each other, which makes her very approachable and gives you comfort to share fears or ask any questions when working together.

Laura was a great support for us right up until the birth of our baby girl and she continues to check in on us to see how we are all going.
